A great annual tango competition for the first time in Europe: 

the best dancers from all over Europe will compete for the European title 

in the categories of Salon Tango and Stage Tango

and will be judged by a panel of experts and remarkable artists.

The European Tango Championship Committee announces the call for entries to 1st edition of the European Tango Championship to be held in June 2010 in the city of Torino, Italy.

The European Tango Championship is the affiliated competition in Europe to the Dance World Championship (Mundial de Baile) yearly held in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and to be held this year from 13 to 31 August.

In the European Tango Championship there will be two different categories of competition: Salon Tango and Stage Tango (Tango Salón y Tango Escenario).

Entries to both categories is open to both professional and amateur dancers.

Dancers will compete throughout two classificatory rounds, semi-finals and then finals.

The two winners couples, one for each category, will enter the Dance World Championship in Buenos Aires and will accede directly to the final round.

All the competition rounds (classificatory, semi-finals and finals) will be open to spectators.

Dancers of any nationality are eligible to apply for the competition. Applicants must prove to be resident in a European country for at least two years.
